Dear SAEMS Families,
In all of the hustle and bustle of getting ready for Christmas parties and gift giving, we sometimes forget to prepare ourselves for the coming of Christ. The Church is wise in her guidance through the liturgical seasons and I encourage you to participate in that Advent wisdom. Advent is the beginning of the new liturgical year and lasts until December 24th. The Christmas season begins with the first vigil Mass for the Feast of the Nativity and lasts until January 9th. Advent prepares us for the coming of Christ in Christmas and for when He comes again. The readings and liturgy remind us again and again to make ourselves ready for Christ to come this holiday and in our lives at any time. I always recommend finding and reading the daily mass readings at usccb.org as a good way to prepare. The best way is to go Confession frequently and Holy Mass and often as possible!
I am excited to experience Christmas at SAEMS for the first time. I am looking forward to celebrating with the students through our Christmas program, the Middle School Posada, and all the parties. I hope to celebrate this joyful season with you and I hope it is full of glad tidings and when He comes, Merry Christmas!
Sincerely in Christ,
1 John 4:16
“You have made us for Yourself O Lord, and our hearts are restless till they rest in you”
